A Boxador Is A Labrador Retriever Crossed with a Boxer
Boxador is a cross between a boxer and a Labrador Retriever.
This cross makes for an interesting mix. Both breeds are friendly, and although the boxer is renowned as being more reserved with strangers than the Labrador. They are not naturally aggressive dogs.
They tend to be very good with children, but do not allow as much ear pulling eye prodding etc.
They are fairly easily bored, so if they are not being kept busy with a reasonable amount of exercise, they tend to display what a lot of dog owners mistakenly think of as being naughty, i.e. digging in the garden and chewing the hose etc.
Labs are slightly more laid back, although they also need a fair amount of exercise, and if they don't get it they can display the same signs of boredom, i.e. digging, chewing etc.
The reason that I mention this is because when you cross these two, or any breed for that matter, you end up with a mix of the characteristics of the parent breeds.
In this dog's case, the characteristics of the one are not that far removed from the other so as to make this difficult to guess at.
Commonly speaking when you cross these breeds you get a dog which is friendly, a good house pet, very loyal and it will protect you as well.
A Boxer although not an aggressive breed of dog, is nonetheless known to be a very brave dog.
This means that it is likely to show aggression in protecting its family, well before a Lab will do, not that a Lab is a coward, it just goes completely against its nature to do anything aggressive at all.
You can also expect this cross to be a very playful dog. Both breeds enjoy a good physical game, so it is almost guaranteed that their offspring will as well.
Both breeds are known for their trainability so a cross should not give you any trouble.
The one thing that I have noticed about these dogs are their looks. As with most cross breeds, looks can and do vary greatly. But I have yet to see a Boxador that does not look like it comes from a cross between a Lab and a Boxer
